Natus Vincere star Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is the winner of the DreamHack Masters Marseille MVP award by HLTV.org and betway.
The Ukrainian prodigy capped off a fantastic individual tournament with a 1.30 series rating in the final, which, however, did not keep his team from being soundly beaten by Astralis, especially on the first map, Nuke.
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev leaves Marseille with a joint career-best 1.52 event rating - the same from DreamHack Open Winter 2017 and from the ELEAGUE Major Boston Main Qualifier - and with +1 ratings in each of the ten maps that he played. He only fell behind a teammate in one match, the 16-4 thrashing of Renegades as the topped the scoreboard for his team in the four series that they played, against fnatic, MOUZ, Gambit and Astralis.
He led the tournament charts in 12 categories besides rating, including damage per round (99.4), kills per round (1.00), rounds with at least one kill (62.8%) and opening frags per round (0.18). He was also one of the hardest players to kill, averaging 0.60 deaths per round, and had five 1vsX situations won.
Other notable mentions include s1mple's teammate Denis "electroNic" Sharipov, and the Astralis trio of Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander - who was the MVP of the tournament by DreamHack -, Nicolai "device" Reedtz and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth.
This is the fourth MVP award of s1mple's career, after he also claimed the medal at ESL One New York 2016, DreamHack Winter 2017 and StarSeries i-League Season 4, and the second that he was won despite being not featuring for the winning team.
